How To Install EcoQuilt Expert on Roofs and Walls

Difficulty: Easy • 4 Steps

EcoQuilt Expert is a 6 Layer High Performance Multifoil Insulation Blanket designed to insulate Roofs, Walls, Floors, Conservatories and many more.

EcoQuilt Expert is the highest performing multifoil when measuring cost vs performance.

For more in-depth information see the specific application for roofs/walls etc.

Method Steps

  1. Measure Area and Cut EcoQuilt

Start by rolling out the insulation and cutting to size. EcoQuilt can be installed vertically or horizontally. EcoQuilt is best cut using a Cutting Knife or Multifoil Scissors

  2. Staple Insulation to Timber

To gain the best thermal performance, a cavity either side of the insulation is required. Staple EcoQuilt directly on to timbers (Rafters, Studs, Battens) at 300mm intervals Tip - Having an extra person holding the insulation and rolling out whilst another staples saves time!

  3. Tape and Seal EcoQuilt

Ensure EcoQuilt is overlapped by a min 50mm on both horizonal and vertical joints. Ensure these are fully taped and sealed using Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape. When EcoQuilt Expert is fully taped and sealed it will also work as a high performance Vapour Control Layer. Ensure EcoQuilt is also taped and sealed around the perimeter.

  4. Counter Batten & Plasterboard

Finish the installation by installing min 25mm battens over the insulation. Battens are usually spaced between 400mm and 600mm centres. Then install your internal finish over the battens.
