How To Install EcoTec Shed Insulation Kit

Difficulty: Easy • 3 Steps

This step by step guide will display how to effectively insulate your shed, summerhouse or garden building.

EcoTec Insulation is a thin, flexible dense 4mm bubble membrane. It has a true reflective foil either side of the bubble material.

EcoTec Bubble Insulation is extremely simplistic to install. It will help to retain radiant energy and heat in the shed, aswell as working as a vapour control layer.

Method Steps

  1. Staple EcoTec Insulation

Start by rolling out EcoTec Insulation to the desired length. Excess material can be cut using the Cutting Knife provided. Staple EcoTec Insulation directly onto the vertical studs as a flat, continuous layer. Staples to be made at minimum intervals of 300mm. When stapling to the stud, this will create a cavity between the EcoTec Insulation, and the timber boards. When a cavity is created, extra thermal performance is gained.

  2. Overlapping and Taping EcoTec Insulation

EcoTec layers should overlap by a min of 50mm, on both horizontal and vertical joints. Ensure all overlaps are fully taped and sealed using Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape. When EcoTec Insulation for Sheds is fully taped and sealed, the product will also work as a high performance Vapour Control Layer.

  3. Install Counter Battens

Then install timber battens (min 19mm depth) directly over the EcoTec Insulation, so there is a cavity either side of the material. You can then proceed to installed your desired internal boarding over the top of the timber. (Cladding, Plasterboard etc.)
