Professional-Grade Flooring Fitting Kit

This kit comes complete with everything you will require to install you SPC-Lux Flooring, conveniently. It also enables you to accurately install laminate or hardwood flooring.

We have considered every element, to make the process as easy as possible. This is suitable for both professional and homeowner use.

What's in the SPC-Lux Flooring Fitting Kit?

Rubber Tapping Block

Made up of thick rubber, which avoids damage to the SPC-Lux Flooring whilst ensuring that the joints are tight.

A Pull Bar

When you have installed the last SPC-Lux Flooring Panel, you can insert the top link in to the gap between the floor and the wall - this will help you close the gaps in the UNILIN system.

A Double Headed Hammer (255 x 75 x 50mm)

Composing of a rubber side and a sturdy plastic side. The bottom of the handle is wrapped in a rubber coating, which ensures that you have a secure grip and also prevents you feeling the vibrations - which overall lends to a more enjoyable installation experience.

20 Spacers

Choose to allow for either a 3 or 6mm expansion gap, around the perimeter of the room. This isolates the space between the floor and the corners.

Profile Gauge

This reproduce complex profiles; it will assist you when going around radiator pipes, door frames / architraves. You can then transfer them on to the flooring

Set Square

Allows you to quickly and accurately ensure square and level marking of angles.

Knife

This ensures you have a clean cut finish, when cutting the flooring panels.

This is commonly ordered alongside SPC-Lux Flooring.

Q&A's

Do I need to use underlay if I’m installing carpet over the top?

Yes, you definitely need to install underlay on top of the floor foam if you’re installing carpet. Floor-foam isn’t a replacement for underlay.

Can I use floor-foam in the bathroom and kitchen?

As long as the floor-foam is correctly sealed and protective flooring is laid on top you won’t have any issues with it getting mouldy, damp, or reacting with water.

How do I attach the floor-foam to concrete floors?

We sell Thermaseal double-sided tape that is perfect for this, or you can use a non-solvent adhesive.

Do I need to tape and seal the insulation?

Yes, you do need to tape and seal the FloorFoam otherwise draughts would still come up through the gaps in the insulation. Which would prevent the insulation from working at its best.

How much flooring will the EcoTec Floor-Foam Insulation Kit cover?

One kit will cover 30 square meters.

Will I need to buy an extra ThermaSeal Foil Joining Tape?

No, you shouldn’t need any extra tape one roll will cover 50m, if you do make any mistakes there is extra for you to use.

Do I need any extra protection between the insulation and the flooring I’m laying over the top?

We do recommend laying a thin layer of plywood over the floor-foam if you’re installing tile, vinyl, carpet tiles, or LVT flooring. This will give the flooring a completely solid surface to lay on. You don’t need to do this with carpet or laminate.

Can I use vinyl over FloorFoam?

Yes, however we would recommend installing a thin plywood over the FloorFoam before installing a vinyl.

What is the best way to cut FloorFoam?

We would recommend cutting FloorFoam with either Multifoil Scissors or a Cutting Knife. Both are available in our Multifoil Fitting Kit.

Is there discount on larger quantities?

We offer EcoTec FloorFoam Trade Pallet Deals, where you order 9 rolls per pallet and receive a discount on the rolls.

Can carpet grippers be nailed through FloorFoam?

Yes, you can nail carpet grippers through FloorFoam. You can alternatively use a non-solvent adhesive.
