Maximise The Performance of Your Radiators

Around 40% of energy is lost via the walls. If the walls behind the radiators are left uninsulated you are likely to be rapidly losing heat energy. The energy you are losing behind the radiators can be utilised with a very simple solution which is our EcoTec Radiator Insulation Kit.

The EcoTec Radiator Insulation Kit reflects around 95% of radiant energy and therefore prevents heat from escaping behind radiators. The insulation supplied within our kit is made up of an air bubble membrane, that is surrounded by True Aluminium Foil on either side.

It is a very simple product to install. It is only 4mm in thickness so it can fit comfortably behind all standard house radiators and convectors.

What’s included in the EcoTec Radiator Kit?

The EcoTec Radiator Kit includes enough insulation to cover all radiators in a standard house. The insulation roll covers 400mm x 15m.

Within the Kit, we also supply you with Double Sided Adhesive Tape. To ensure that you can fit the product without having to purchase any fitting equipment.

All of the products that we supply are manufactured within the UK. We are therefore able to offer a free next-day delivery service to anywhere in the UK Mainland. If the order is placed before 2 pm. How-To Insulate Radiators To Save Heat Loss and Energy Bills

  1. Measure the radiator

    Measure the radiator

Using a tape measure accurately measure the length of your radiator.

  2. Mark the length onto the insulation

    Mark insulation length

Roll out the insulation and mark out the length of the radiator onto the insulation.

  3. Cut the insulation

    Cut the insulation

Cut the insulation to the length you marked out with scissors or a sharp cutting knife.

  4. How to install around radiator brackets

    Mark radiator brackets

Mark where the radiator brackets are on the insulation and the length of the brackets.

  5. Cut the insulation to fit the brackets

    Cut for brackets

Cut the line you’ve just created on the insulation so the insulation can fit around the radiator brackets.

  6. Apply the Double Sided Tape

    Apply double-sided tape

Apply ThermaSeal Double-Sided Tape to the back of the insulation at the top and bottom. Peel the backing of the ThermaSeal Double-Sided tape off.

  7. Attach the insulation to the wall

    Attach insulation

Place the insulation behind the radiator. Stick the ThermaSeal Double-Sided tape to the wall. Do not attach the tape to the radiator.

Do you attach the insulation to the wall or the Radiator?

You will always attach the insulation to the wall.

Will the double-sided tape damage the wall?

The tape shouldn’t damage the paint, wallpaper, or plaster on the wall, but it could potentially leave some residue which could be removed with a product like GooGone. It is designed to last a long time so if you’re wanting to renovate or move your radiators, we would recommend waiting to insulate them until you’re done.

How thick is the insulation?

The insulation is only 4mm thick, so it’ll fit behind all types of radiators.

How do I install the insulation so you can’t see it?

If you’re concerned about seeing the insulation, make sure when you’re cutting and measuring that the insulation is a couple of inches shorter on each side than the size of the radiator.

Can I use a Radiator cover?

Yes, you can use a radiator cover however, they can block some of the heat entering your room from your radiators.

Is the product re-usable?

Our Radiator Kit can be removed if any renovation being undertaken. Once completed, the insulation can be re-installed using more Double-Sided Tape

How many radiators will this cover?

Based on radiators of 1200mm wide x 680mm height, you would expect to insulate 7-8 radiators
