Protect Your Shed From Condensation and Frost

EcoTec Shed Insulation Kit is designed to create a warm living space in your garden building for use all year round. At only 4mm thick, it would take up minimal room in your vital space, unlike traditional methods such as Rigid Board or Glass Fibre.

EcoTec consists of 2 layers of true aluminium foil on either side of an air bubble membrane, which is around 4mm thick. Designed to reflect away cold during winter while reflecting heat into the Shed/Summerhouse. During the Summer months, this will do the opposite, keeping your Shed or Summerhouse at a comfortable temperature all year round. This is equivalent to using around 50mm of Rockwool.

What’s included in the EcoTec Shed Insulation Kit?

EcoTec Shed Insulation comes on either a 1.05 x 25m Roll which covers 26.25 square meters, 1.5m x 25m roll which covers 37.5 square metres OR a 1.05m x 50m roll covering 52.5 square metres – Covers most Sheds! You will also receive the following;

True Aluminium Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape 75mm x 50m

1 x Heavy Duty Staple Gun & 5,000 14mm Staples

1 x Cutting Knife & Extra Blades

  1. Clean the Shed Interior

    Before installing insulation, ensure the shed walls and roof are free of dust and debris.

  2. Measure the Shed Panels

    Measure the height and width of each panel to cut the insulation to the correct size.

  3. Cut the Insulation

    Use a sharp knife or scissors to cut the EcoTec Insulation to fit each panel.

  4. Attach the Insulation

    Use double-sided tape or adhesive to fix the insulation onto the shed panels.

  5. Secure with Battens

    For better insulation and stability, install wooden battens over the insulation.

  6. Seal Joints with Foil Tape

    Use Thermaseal Foil Tape to seal all edges and overlaps for maximum efficiency.

What’s the difference between the EcoPro and EcoTec Shed Insulation Kits?

Our EcoPro Shed Insulation Kit uses EcoQuilt as the insulation. EcoTec uses AirTec Double for the insulation. EcoQuilt does have a better thermal value than AirTec double however it does come at a higher price point.

What would you recommend using the EcoTec Shed Insulation Kit for?

If you’re simply using the space as a summerhouse, storage, shed, or storage building we’d recommend using the EcoTec Shed insulation kit as you don’t need the insulation to keep the space warm at all times it’ll help protect the contents from the elements.

Do I need to tape and seal the insulation?

Yes, we recommend taping and sealing over all joints and overlaps on the roof and walls. This will help the products to act as a high-performing vapor control layer. However, if you’re insulating the floor, you still need to tape and seal the perimeter but leave the overlaps un-taped, this will ensure any moisture will escape below.

Why do I need to overlap the insulation?

The insulation should be overlapped by 50mm because this will stop draughts from entering the space and warm air from escaping.

Do I need to leave an air gap?

Yes, the minimum air gap we recommend is 25mm on either side of the insulation however if a larger air gap is present this will only benefit the insulation. The air gap will help reflect any heat inside and any cool air outside.
